Four Major Usage Tips for Reducer Maintenance
Most people are not unfamiliar with reducers. A reducer serves to match speed and transmit torque between the prime mover and working machine or actuator, and is a relatively precision machine. However, due to the harsh working environment of reducers, faults such as wear and leakage often occur. So how can these faults be avoided?
1. During operation, when the oil temperature rise exceeds 80°C or the oil pool temperature exceeds 100°C, or abnormal noise occurs, the reducer should be stopped immediately. The cause must be investigated, faults must be eliminated, and the lubricating oil must be replaced before resuming operation.
2. When changing oil, wait until the reducer has cooled down to eliminate the risk of combustion, but it should still be kept warm, as complete cooling will increase oil viscosity and make drainage difficult. Note: Disconnect the power supply of the transmission device to prevent accidental energization.
3. After 200-300 hours of operation, the first oil change should be performed. In subsequent use, the oil quality should be checked regularly. Oil that has been mixed with impurities or has deteriorated must be replaced promptly. Under normal circumstances, for reducers operating continuously for long periods, replace with new oil every 2500 hours or once every six months. For reducers that have been out of service for extended periods, new oil should also be replaced before resuming operation. The reducer should be filled with oil of the same brand as before, and must not be mixed with oil of different brands. Oils of the same brand but different viscosities are allowed to be mixed.
4. Users should establish reasonable usage and maintenance regulations. The operating conditions of the reducer and problems found during inspection should be carefully recorded. The above regulations should be strictly implemented.
The above are a few tips for reducer maintenance. Hope they are helpful to everyone.
